A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Ed Stone families,

My name is Alec Clark and I am very happy and excited to be the principal of Edward Stone Middle School! I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with a dedicated staff and a supportive school community. I feel very fortunate to be a part of Edward Stone and the Burlington Community School District for the past four years, and I look forward to supporting Edward Stone students and families.

The mission of the Burlington Community School District is to inspire and challenge students through diverse opportunities. The staff at Edward Stone and myself will work endlessly together to ensure that your child has a school year consisting of nurturing relationships, a safe and challenging learning environment, and transparent communication.

During the 2024-2025 school year, we as a staff will be looking to bring as many opportunities as possible for each of the students at Edward Stone in order to have a successful and engaging school year.

I look forward to getting to meet all of the students and families at Edward Stone and speak with you about how we can work together to ensure success for all students. We as a staff are excited to engage parents and the community into the classroom and to feel a part of Edward Stone.

If there is ever anything I can do to help you or your student, please do not hesitate to contact me via email or call me at 319-752-4393 ext. 5000.

It’s going to be a great school year!

Mission

Inspiring and challenging students through diverse opportunities.

Vision

The Burlington Community School District strives to have a profoundly positive impact on each student’s adult quality of life brought about by the students’ individual and collective educational experience.

Exit Outcomes

The Burlington Community School District supports all students achieving skills and abilities to become productive citizens in the community in which they live. This includes academic goals, social competencies, employability skills, and technology skills. These skills are a guide for teachers and students in determining projects and areas of focus at various grade levels.
